Description:
Japan requires that all cargo exported from Japan pass through Customs.
We will pass your cargo through Customs as "Personal Effects", as opposed to "Commercial Cargo", on your behalf.
"Personal Effects" shipments can normally be imported duty/tariff free at your destination. Check with your Embassy/Consulate/relevant Customs authority and see Related Links and F.A.Q. pages for pointers.
Once cleared through Customs, your cargo is placed in an air tight container and loaded to the vessel.
Prior to arrival at the destination, the Bill of Lading (B/L) and insurance policy will be sent for release of your shipment. Application for release of shipment is to be made to the local agent specified on the B/L.
